Water Residential Assistance Program (WRAP)

The Water Residential Assistance Program (WRAP) is a two year program that provides funding to eligible, low-income homeowners to assist with water bills, water conservation, and self-sufficiency initiatives in Wayne County.

United Way

United Way 211 connects people of all ages and from all communities to the essential health and human services they need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 211 can be accessed by phone or computer. 211 connects you to a community resource specialist in your area who can connect you with local organizations.

THAW: The Heat and Warmth Fund

The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) is stabilizing and empowering Michigan families, keeping them healthy, safe and warm. Through nearly 40 agency partners and mobile processing events, THAW distributes energy and utility assistance to Michigan households.

Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency

NEMCSA resources are directed to programs that aid the poor and otherwise disadvantaged throughout the age spectrum, from pre-schoolers to the elderly of northeast Michigan. The funds include targeted resources aimed at very specific problems as well as resources that are more flexible in nature.

Michigan 2-1-1

Michigan 211, funded by the United Way, is available to all Michigan residents.  It connects residents with a broad range of community, government and faith-based services that can help with rent & utility costs, shelter & housing connections, food benefits and transportation assistance.

Hebrew Free Loan Detroit

Hebrew Free Loan Detroit (HFL) provides no-interest loans to qualifying Jewish Michigan residents up to $10,000 to pay for healthcare costs and other personal expenses.

DTE Assistance

DTE has partnered with the Salvation Army to help make energy payments more affordable with DTE’s Low Income Self-Sufficiency Plan. For additional information on how to apply, please CLICK HERE. They also offer a number of assistance programs to help with energy costs, including a Medical Emergency Protection program.
